Welcome To My Front Patio Area Updated for Fall

The cooling evenings find the Wasatch mountains clothed in the leaves of turning colors, regular season football games are well underway, and before long we'll need to pull out the space heater to extend the evenings spent outdoors on the patio...it's definitely time to update the patio with a few Fall items.
I'm using the same wicker chairs from last season, but new this season are these gorgeous pillows and throws from West Elm.
They have so many beautiful throws I had a difficult time making up my mind. I finally settled on these woven yarn throws in citrus yellow and dark mandarin. Paired with gray and a touch of gold it makes me feel like Fall is in the air.

To make the most of your patio space bring the comforts of indoors outdoors. Family and friends love to cozy up with comfortable pillows and a throw to keep them warm.
I should mention that West Elm does have a collection of outdoor pillows and accessories, however, these are not from their outdoor collection. My patio is not covered, but it is fairly well protected from the elements and I bring the pillows and throws indoors when we are expecting rain. For me it's not a big issue because I don't have too many pieces and the seat cushions are outdoor weather proof. This may not be an ideal situation for you and these days there are so many gorgeous outdoor fabrics to choose from so there is always a great selection. You should keep weather in mind when choosing outdoor patio accessories.

I am really loving my terra-cotta pots. I've had them for about five or six years now and they are perfectly worn just how I like them!
Add a little ambiance to your porch or patio by hanging string lights. We hung Edison outdoor lights in the tree. It gives a beautiful atmosphere out there in the evenings. I keep them up year-round. You can usually find these on sale at several different places.

We really enjoy the front area of our home. It's peaceful, private, and quiet; a lovely place to enjoy reading a good book or visiting!
It took me a while to get into the mind set of Fall decorating, but after I got going I'm getting anxious to add pumpkins and begin preparations for the upcoming holidays.

I brought in some birch tree branches this season which I'm loving.

I've planted a few new Fall planters that I will have up on the blog tomorrow, including a list of plants I used so I hope you'll check back for that.

I hope you all had a lovely weekend. We spent a great deal of time working in our yard, and the rest with family so it was a nice weekend. I have some great things coming to the blog this week - fall planters, delicious recipes - just to mention a few. I hope you'll come back.
