Beautiful Home Tour - Sophisticated and Charming

This beautiful home's neutral palette, layers of texture and organic accents combine perfectly with touches of glam to create a look that feels sophisticated and comfortable. Ideas and inspiration abound throughout the open and airy layout of this unique North Carolina home designed by Lisa Sherry of Lisa Sherry Interieurs

Did I mention this home is "unique"?  The home's front entrance is by way of an arched expanse of paned windows that open to the dining room. A self-proclaimed rule breaker, designer Lisa Sherry says, "While I respect and understand traditional design precepts, I believe great interiors bend and twist and reinterpret the so-called rules." A good philosophy to remember when decorating your own home: that good design should meet the needs and desires of the occupants, not the other way around.

Could the front porch be any more charming?
While the exterior has a cottage-style feel, the interiors are sleek with clean, architectural details.

Attention to every detail sets this home apart. White oak hardwood floors stained natural and white walls with black trim serve as the perfect backdrop for the simple sophisticated furnishings and vignettes throughout the home.

Shiplap adds texture to the walls for a modern sophisticated look in the kitchen. The color palette allows the architectural details to standout. Nothing competes for attention. Rather, everything blends together for a cohesive, elegant feeling.

Off the dining room, a side door opens to an open and dramatic two story staircase.

A coffered ceiling living room displays a gray sofa with multi patterned accent pillows all in the range of cool tones and dark neutrals. Rather than side tables, two brass floors lamps with drum shades fall in line with the open and airy feeling.

A small round metal table sits prominently for drinks, and adds an additional layer of texture.

Speaking of texture, a round salvaged, rough-hewn table takes center stage in the neutral theme of the living room, adding a rustic feel to the area. The modern furnishings are complemented with a light gray striped, textured area rug completing the look.

An industrial-style console table divides the living space while maintaining the open, airy layout.

The black ceiling, walls and trim provide a dramatic look for the office.

Upstairs and downstairs, the basic design elements are carried throughout - white oak hardwood floors stained natural and white walls with black trim.

A stylish claw foot soaking tub beckons the tired and weary.

The stylish comforts of the interiors follow you outdoors.

If details make the home, then this home is all about the details. This unique North Carolina home is full of sophisticated charm and comfort, and lots of style ideas and inspiration for you and me!
