What's On The Menu Monday? Easy Angel Food Dessert Cups with Whipped Topping and Berries

It's always nice to have a dessert that is easy and delicious. Set aside that cumbersome angel food cake pan and make easy individual servings topped with a scrumptious whipped topping and fresh berries for a truly heavenly dessert. The topping makes this dessert delicious; the presentation is impressive! Enjoy!

Angel Food Dessert Cups with Whipped Topping and Berries

1 pkg. (8 oz.) cream cheese
1 cup powdered sugar
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
1/4 tsp. lemon extract
3/4 cup heavy whipping cream
12 angel food dessert cups
Fresh berries:
1 qt. strawberries
1 pint blue berries
1 pint blackberries
1 pint raspberries
Finish with sanding sugar, if desired

1.  Mix the softened cream cheese with the powdered sugar, sour cream, vanilla and lemon extracts. Mix well. Put in another bowl and set aside. Whip the heavy cream (do not add any sugar), until thickened. Fold the whipped cream mixture into the cream cheese mixture. Refrigerate the topping 1-2 hours before assembling.

2. Clean and slice strawberries; mix berries of choice together in a bowl.

To assemble spoon a large dollop of topping in the center of dessert cup, top with berries, finish with a sprinkle of sanding sugar, if desired.

You're going to love this whipped topping!  Here are two additional posts for ideas to use this whipped topping. The recipe I'm sharing today is actually adapted from my Berry Trifle.
