Top Five Posts of 2016!

Like all of us do in our work and personal lives I have reviewed how Decorated Mantel has done as a blog during this past year and thought about goals and areas where I want to improve in 2017. I'm happy with how much I've learned and how far I've come, and while I'm excited to begin improving upon what I've built so far I wanted to share with you my top five post from 2016.

My blog really took off with the #1 post in 2016. It appears that January is a big month for digging in and getting organized!

Who likes ordinary? When it comes to decorating our homes we want to share our personality and make our home unique and special. It should be no surprise then that this post was number two!

When it comes to this hard functioning room, we don't want boring, messy or chaotic. Instead, with the amount of time spent doing laundry we prefer this room to have the same character and class as the rest of the house.

#3 - WASH, DRY, REPEAT: LAUNDRY ROOMS THAT MAKE YOU SMILE

For over half of the year in 2016 I posted a segment every Sunday called "Sunday Musings" where I highlighted a cathedral, church or temple from around the world. This mostly comes from my love of beautiful architecture and the fact that I love the amazing history of of these religious churches and faiths in all different countries. I have people searching my blog from all over the world. That's amazing to me! Next to the United States, in 2016 the most traffic I received to my blog came from Israel. In honor of my blog friends in Israel, this is the stunning Church of Mary Magdalene located on the Mount of Olives, near the Garden of Gethsemane in East Jerusalem.

#4 - CHURCH OF MARY MAGDALENE

It also appears that like me many of you have a sweet tooth! These lacy caramel apples ranked number five!

#5 - LACY CARAMEL APPLES + CREATIVE PAPER STICKS

Thank you for stopping by and visiting. I hope to fill Decorated Mantel with even more creative and inspirational ideas in 2017!

xoxo,
