Yes, these sunflowers are real. Aren't they beautiful?
I honestly had to take a double look when I saw them. I was choosing flowers for a bouquet for my daughter-in-law's birthday and as soon as I saw them I thought they would be perfect for her!
I wanted them to be special for her or I would have picked up a few more for me - they're so pretty!
I've said this before on my blog, but I'm always on the lookout for unique bottles and vases just like this one. This glass cork-topped bottle is perfect for flower arrangements. I like using bottles like this one because I am able to use fewer flowers which saves a little money, and I can arrange a grouping and it's held tightly in place around the small neck opening, they fan out nicely and look great.
To add a little flare, you can tie some ribbon about the neck of the bottle, or I used brown paper covered wire - Wrapped Rustic Feel Craft Wire - in brown from a craft store.
You can see that I wound the covered wire around the neck of the bottle and around the cork to attach it to the arrangement...
and then curled the ends. Fill your bottle with tepid water, and add floral preservative.
Arrange your flowers: this arrangement has 4 red sunflowers, 4 willow twigs, and some green grass.
Cut the ends of the flowers on a diagonal and at the length you need. Insert the whole grouping into the bottle together at the same time.
After you put your flowers into the bottle you can adjust the flowers as needed. This is a quick and easy arrangement to put together and it makes a beautiful gift for someone.
It's also a lovely way to welcome October to your home!
Thank you for visiting today! I hope you have a wonderful week!
