Floral Arrangement of the Week - Use Filler From Your Yard

I picked up these beautiful sunflowers from the grocery store today to add a little Fall color to my table for the weekend.

For filler, I cut a vine from my tomatillo tomato plant and used it to add a unique look while branches from the yard add character.

Look for items around your yard to add as filler to your floral arrangements. This is the perfect season for adding branches, leaves, and even vines from your garden for a unique and special touch.

This year a friend gave us a tomatillo tomato plant for salsa. Look at what this single plant is producing! I love the unique spherical shape. Not only does a vine cut from a tomato plant add a unique look to an arrangement, it smells fabulous!!

This is the first year I've grown this variety. I will definitely grow them every year and I'm so excited to try them in my salsa.

I love the smell of fresh garden vegetables in my kitchen!

You can find so many items around your yard to use as filler in your floral arrangements. Anything from cutting a vine from a tomato plant or pumpkin or squash, or a branch with apples, or twigs. Branches add character while fall leaves add color. The options are limitless.

Be sure to check back next week for my recipe for this delicious Caprese Salad with Pesto Vinaigrette. Delish!
