Not all of us are lucky enough to have exposed brick walls in our home. For all of you people out there who are lucky enough, I am extremely jealous. Incorporating exposed brick brings character and warmth - not to mention raw charm - into any interior space from your kitchen to your bedroom.
I recently returned from a trip to Quebec City in Canada where we spent a great deal of time exploring the buildings of Old Quebec. I fell in love with the exposed brick in so many of the old homes, apartments and condos. The two rooms pictured here are in a home constructed in 1876 - you can see the entire home on my post HERE.
Peeling back the layers of a brick wall that has stood the test of time can often reveal the past while, at the same time, complement the present. Because of the texture and wide range of warmth and natural colors in the brick, you can use a variety of styles from high style, rustic to modern, or an industrial feel. It's one of the elements that I love about exposed brick.
With so many different styling options available, I wanted to share some great inspiration for decorating around an exposed brick wall, plus provide you with a few shopping sources for some fun items. I always love shopping sources!! Don't you?? Once or twice a month I like to highlight a different style and provide sources to help you get a similar look. These are not sponsors of this post and you will need to thoroughly vet and determine whether it is the best deal for you.
I just love the worn, charming look of this brick wall. The natural coloring of the brick works perfectly with the dusty blues, green and coral and brass accents.
