Home Tour - Nashville Symphony Show House

southern contemporary folk style...

Get inspired with this stunning home showcased in the Nashville Symphony Show House this past June. The Southern Contemporary Folk style home, located in an upscale neighborhood of suburban Nashville, is full of elegant and charming inspiration.

Beginning with the open entry revealing dark hardwood floors, creamy white walls, and an open wide iron and wood staircase.

How would this chandelier look gracing your entryway?  This beautiful wood-metal chandelier is the perfect balance between the contemporary touches found throughout the home while maintaining its Southern country folk charm - adding a simple yet elegant touch.  One source for a similar chandelier - Brighton Chandelier by Birch Lane - can be found HERE

The open simplicity of the staircase allows you to see into the study and master bedroom entry.

The straight walk into the open adjoining living and dining rooms is alive with light from the wall of gorgeous French doors and windows.

The colorful artwork is accentuated by the simple and elegant molding and trim work.

Just off the dining area is my favorite room...the kitchen!

A great family kitchen really is the heart of the home. It's where countless good times are shared over family dinners, where everyone gathers for conversation, and where late nights are spent finishing all the homework.  It's where life happens. This home's kitchen is a "great family" kitchen. The spacious open area is flooded with light. The white cabinetry is a beautiful contrast to the creamy walls and dark hardwood floors. It's really beautiful, and I love the subway-tiled wall!

The grand island is topped with old cerused oak. I love the finish. You can find a great DIY video for cerusing wood HERE

A mirrored backsplash at the bar multiplies the ample light already pouring into the area. The kitchen is my favorite room in this home, in fact, it's one of my favorite kitchens period.

There does not appear to be a room in this home that isn't flooded with natural light, including the spacious laundry room off the kitchen.

Notice the unique framed wood details lining the wall of the mudroom.  A great idea to replicate using reclaimed wood.

The master bedroom and bath are serene, artful, and beautiful.

Upstairs, the hallway leads to two identical en-suite bedrooms.

Notice the trim on the drapery. Every detail is well chosen and subtly poised to create a cohesive balance throughout.

Located above the home's three-car garage is found a family room that includes a bar and bathroom...

and also featuring more of the cerused wood.

If you love the interior of this home, you'll droll over what awaits outdoors...

Stunning, right?  This home tour offers an abundance of beautiful ideas and inspiration.  I hope you enjoyed it as much I enjoyed putting it together!
