Before & After Kitchen Inspiration

Are you ready for a change in your kitchen? Take a look at these updated kitchens for inspiration.

[before]

The homeowners of this kitchen were looking for an update to their kitchen that reflected a rustic craftsman style.  The changes designer Carla Aston helped her clients make to achieve their desired look created a stunning transformation.

If all new cabinets are not in your budget, consider painting your cabinets like these homeowners did. The basic orange cabinets were transformed with ebony paint and black hardware.  Removing the upper cabinets above the range opened up the opportunity for a big statement with a new slate hood taken to the ceiling.  The slate mix on the hood and the matte finish Walker Zanger large subway tiled backsplash both play a role in the rustic craftsman style the homeowners desired.

I love the rubbed finish on the wood trim around the hood and new island.  The gray wash on the distressed wood floors completes the beautiful look.

If your needs permit, this lounge area in the kitchen instead of the typical table and chairs is an idea for a different touch.

For the second kitchen, these homeowners transformed their kitchen with a few changes to the existing cabinets, including a new hood, and with paint.

The new island, appliances, countertops, and tile create a casual feel to this traditional kitchen.  The homeowner, also a blogger at "My Uncommon Slice of Suburbia," shares more about her renovations, including instructions for painting oak cabinets HERE.

The third kitchen, also by designer Carla Aston, received upgraded materials, better storage, and an overall increase in quality.

My favorite change to this kitchen is the new hood.  Along the cooking wall, the oven was moved down the wall, adjacent to the door, making space for a grand hood and more room at the new cooktop.

The new hood is absolutely stunning and every cook would find the extra room ideal.

In addition to imported Portuguese tiles and quartzite countertops, the gorgeous brass hardware, brass and crystal chandelier, and Rohl faucet complete the look.

Because I have an obsession with range hoods, below I am sharing a few of my favorites for inspiration.
